Terms of Service

1.1. Platform Nature: SheltEase (accessible at sheltease.com) is a digital marketplace providing a platform for Landlords/Agents ("Listers") to advertise properties and for Tenants ("Seekers") to view them.

1.2. No Agency Relationship: SheltEase is NOT a real estate agent, broker, or property manager. We do not represent any party in a transaction. We do not own, manage, or inspect the properties listed.

1.3. No Contractual Party: SheltEase is not a party to any rental agreement, lease, or transaction entered into between a Lister and a Seeker.

2.1. KYC Requirements: To maintain a "High-Trust" environment, users may be required to verify their identity using Bank Verification Number (BVN) or National Identification Number (NIN).

2.2. Data Accuracy: You warrant that all information provided is true. Providing false identity information is a criminal offense under the Cybercrimes Act 2015 and will be reported to the authorities.

2.3. Account Responsibility: You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. Any activity on your account is deemed to be performed by you.

3.1. Lister Warranty: Listers warrant that they have the legal right and authority to list the property for rent.

3.2. Content Standards: Listings must include accurate descriptions, current photos, and valid pricing. Misleading or "bait-and-switch" listings are strictly prohibited and will result in a permanent ban.

3.3. No Warranty: SheltEase does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or quality of any listing. Seekers are strictly advised to perform a physical inspection before any commitment.

4.1. Manual Payments: SheltEase does not currently process payments via a third-party gateway. Any financial transaction is conducted manually between the Seeker and the Lister or through the SheltEase Trustee Account.

4.2. Risk Disclosure: Any user sending money directly to a Lister outside of the SheltEase Trustee system does so at their own total risk. SheltEase shall not be liable for the loss of any funds paid directly to third parties.

4.3. Refunds: Since SheltEase is not a party to the rental contract, we do not handle refunds for rent paid. All refund disputes must be settled between the Tenant and the Landlord.
